Privacy policy for the Fire Scatters portal
Start playingThis notice covers Fire Scatters, the site you're reading now — not the casino operator it writes about. We collect a limited amount of information to run this portal, and this page sets out what that is, why we hold it, and how you can ask us to change or delete it.
The short version
We are the data controller for information collected through this site. We don't sell personal data to anyone, and we keep what we hold to what's needed to run the site and answer your emails.
Data you hand over vs data we observe
Two categories exist here, and they're collected differently.
- Data you give us directly — your name and email address if you write to [email protected], and anything you volunteer in that message.
- Data we observe automatically — your IP address, browser type, device information, and the pages you visit, gathered through cookies and standard server logs.
We process this to keep the site working, to understand roughly which pages get read, and to reply properly when you contact us. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating and improving the site, or your consent where a cookie banner asks for it.
Processors and transfers
We use third-party services for hosting and analytics, and those providers process data on our behalf under their own security terms. Where a provider is based outside the UK, transfers rely on the safeguards required under UK data protection law. We do not pass your details to the casino operator we write about, and we do not sell contact information to advertisers.
Exercising your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you can ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the data we hold on you, ask for a copy in a portable format, object to processing, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis we're relying on. Email [email protected] to make any of these requests — we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent supervisory authority for data protection.
Retention
We keep contact-form and support correspondence only as long as it's needed to resolve your query and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up. Server logs and analytics data are held on a rolling basis and cleared automatically rather than kept indefinitely.
Under-18s
This site, and the gambling content it covers, is intended for readers aged 18+ only. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact [email protected] and we'll remove it.
Changes to this notice
We may update this policy as our data practices change. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date, so it's worth checking back if you have concerns about how your information is used.
Questions about anything on this page can go to [email protected].
This site is intended for persons aged 18 and over (18+) only. If gambling stops feeling like entertainment, free and confidential support is available at BeGambleAware.org.
